Sacraments

Sacrament of Baptism

Parents must be registered members of the parish and attend a Baptism preparation class prior to the Baptism if this is the first child baptized or are new the parish.  The requirements for godparents are established by the Catholic Church.  Please call the parish office for more information.

Sacrament of Penance/ Reconciliation

Wednesday ~ 6:00 pm. until 6:45 pm. ; or by appointment.

Sacrament of Holy Matrimony

Diocesan policy requires up tp 12 months of preparation for Marriage.  Contact the parish as soon as possible after engagement.  No arrangements should be made prior to consultation with the pastor.

 

Sacrament of the Sick

Anointing of the Sick should be given if an individual is gravely ill or near death.  If possible, the Sacrament should also be administered before major surgery or when one is initially hospitalized.

 

 

 

Holy Orders

In the Diocese of Harrisburg, ordination, or, the conferring of the Sacrament of Holy Orders,  occurs at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Harrisburg. The Sacrament confers the Diaconate and Priesthood. 

St. Ignatius church supports not only seminarians, but also working and retired priests and religious. We continually ask our LORD for an increase in vocations. Further information about the priesthood, diaconate and other vocations to religious life can be found through contacting a local priest, or through the Diocese of Harrisburg website.
